Diferencias sobre Guárdame las vacas – Rediscovering Spain

Composer: Improvisation & Fahmi Alqhai

The song “Guárdame las vacas” became hugely famous in the 16th century because its short chord progression  (also known as the “romanesca”) served for countless improvisations, many of them found in Spanish vihuela books. Accademia del Piacere joins in the musical game of the period to play  its own “vacas”.
