This CD by Accademia del Piacere once again explores new paths in the world of historical music. Alqhai and his musicians revive the world of improvisation in Spain around 1600 and – heeding the advice of the great masters of the glosa of the time – launch into improvisation, glosas and the creation of variations and fantasias on the masterpieces of the Renaissance and the early Spanish Baroque.
The CD, produced and distributed as a co-production by Alqhai&Alqhai and Glossa, was recorded between late 2012 and early 2013 at the Sputnik studios in Seville, with Raquel Andueza as special guest. It includes notes in English, German, Spanish and French.
