Francisco Guerrero, the great maestro de capilla (chapel master) of Seville Cathedral, made his own pilgrimage to the East and recounted it in his book El viage de Hierusalem. We will hear one of his celebrated spiritual villanescas, religious pieces in Castilian that gave rise to the modern villancico.
